Brandon G. Stranzl


Brandon G. Stranzl is currently a private investor in Greenwich, CT. He was previously the lead Analyst for ESL Investments Inc., the investment firm founded and run by Edward S. Lampert, from 2008 - 2010. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Stranzl was the General Partner of BGS Value Partners LP, an investment partnership that focused on long-term value investing in both the public and private markets. Prior to forming BGS, Mr. Stranzl was a Partner at Martin Whitman's investment firm, Third Avenue Management LLC, from 2002 to 2004, where he was Portfolio Manager for the Third Avenue Special Situations Fund LP. Earlier in his career, Mr. Stranzl worked for Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Fidelity Investments.

Mr. Stranzl holds a BA from Vassar College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Mr. Stranzl has significant experience in the investment practices of "private equity in the public markets" and distressed debt. He has sat on numerous Boards of Directors and Creditor’s Committees, including for the reorganized Kmart Holding Corporation, which he played a key role in bringing out of bankruptcy.
