Benjamin A. Davis


Benjamin A. Davis is a multi-award winning broadcast journalist with more than 30-years experience in broadcast journalism, digital journalism and academia. Ben is the Inaugural CBS Harold Dow Visiting Professor at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. Previously for nine-years he taught digital journalism and broadcast news writing at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is the former Burton R. Benjamin Journalism Fellow at the University of Michigan’s Knight-Wallace Fellows program. Ben is currently writing a book on the Digital Media Pyramid, which is a model he created to replace the more than a century old analog-based Inverted Pyramid used by journalists.

He received his BA in International Relations and Economics at Whittier College in Whittier, California and his Masters in journalism from Columbia University in New York, New York. He also studied international relations at the University of Copenhagen. Included in the many journalism awards he has won, are two Alfred I. du Pont awards for broadcast journalism.
